This funds a National Health Service Corps, encouraging young doctors and nurses into underserved areas in return for debt forgiveness. GM agrees to make EV cars with union labor. One concern of striking workers was that automakers were going to make crucial electric vehicle components in non-union shops. This is a win-win for the climate and workers. (Trump campaigned last week in a non-union shop.) Detroit Free Press.

In a sign of economic resilience, U.S. employers add 336,000 jobs. An unexpectedly robust gain. Hourly rates have increased 4.2% in the last 12 months while the inflation rate is at 3.4%. PBS

Bill Clinton and Israeli Billionaire launch a $1 billion climate fund. Ziv Aviram, the co-founder of Mobileye, says the fund will focus on transformative technologies that address global heating. TheMedialine

Massachusetts will be the first state in the U.S. to halt all purchases of single-use plastic bottles by state agencies, Gov. Maura Healey (D) announced Monday at the Clinton Global Initiative’s Climate Week summit. WBUR TheHill
