A GOOD WEEK FOR THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION
Here is a short list of the successes from last week.
- “BIDEN WON THE DEBT CEILING NEGOTIATIONS” Crisis was averted, and terms set until after 2024 election, with minimal losses to Biden’s agenda, and praise for his quiet, wily negotiating skills. Read the article from Political Wire here.
a) The normalcy of budget negotiations is a win for us all, even with painful capitulations, with a bi-partisan vote. Pragmatic is a word floating around opinion columns.
b) McCarthy managed to govern without being bullied by The Freedom Caucus or Trump; he and Hakeem Jeffries found ways to get the job done in The House.
c) Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security are safe for now. - THE MAY JOBS REPORT SHOWS BLISTERING GROWTH in the economy, overshadowing any fear of recession.
- INFLATION HAS SLOWED to a nearly a two-year low.
- A MASSIVE SURGE AT THE BORDER DIDN’T HAPPEN after the expiration of Title 42, a Covid-era immigration restriction. Instead, border apprehensions have fallen dramatically.
- THE DURHAM REPORT FOUND NOTHING damaging.
- A HOUSE REPUBLICAN INQUIRY CLEARED PRESIDENT BIDEN OF FINANCIAL WRONG-DOING while investigating the Biden family.
- KEN PAXTON HAS BEEN IMPEACHED. The allegedly corrupt Texas Attorney General and Trump ally has been removed from his job and is awaiting trial in August. Read the Texas Tribune article here.
- INVESTIGATIONS INTO TRUMP DEEPEN. Donald Trump was recorded flashing a classified document to people without security clearance. Further, he incriminates himself on the tape by admitting he knew it was classified. Also, under Georgia’s RICO laws, (the Racketter Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act), Fani Willis has broadened her probe of Trump and allies 2020 election scam into other states.
