STEP BY STEP — COMPOUNDING, ACCELERATING
THE GEORGIA INDICTMENT. How many times in the Trump Era have we thought, “But that’s against the law!” Or “That’s not true!” In Georgia, it’s a crime to make false, fictitious or fraudulent statements, and a serious violation to ask public officials to act against their sworn duties.
Finally, a sweeping indictment of all the players charged with committing fraud in the 2020 election. (Hint: it wasn’t ever Democrats.) Georgia charges include Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, New Mexico, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. They go beyond the dates Trump was in office. They range from Trump, to his enablers, to the woman who tried to strong-arm Ruby Freeman into a confession. Last week Giuliani admitted he was lying when he accused Freeman of election fraud and Freeman and her daughter Shaye Moss were cleared of all wrong-doing. But more justice is coming. You can read the full indictment here. You can listen on the podcast Prosecuting Donald Trump. Or listen here, Part One. And here, Part Two. There’s a long road fraught ahead, but Trump, if convicted, can’t pardon himself.
