    ACCOUNTABILITY,  NOW AND TO COME

DONALD TRUMP HELD PERSONALLY ACCOUNTABLE in a judgement on sexual assault and defamation of E. Jean Carroll. The unanimous verdict, for liability and a five-million-dollar restitution, was delivered in under three hours. Ruth Marcus, of The Washington Post, writes, “Justice is dispensed in small, imperfect doses. A single teaspoonful will not cure the disease. But it is a start.”
Read about it here in the New York Times and here in the Washington Post.

UNINTENDED PERKS OF TRUMP’S TOWN HALL ON CNN:
             1. LIZ CHENEY AIRS THE TRUTH DURING THE BREAK. Even as Trump is saying the 2020 election was rigged, Liz counters with Trump’s legal loss and holds him accountable for January 6th, emphasizing his supreme dereliction of duty and unfitness for office. See the declaration here.
             2. TRUMP POSSIBLY INCRIMINATES HIMSELF, doubling down on the righteousness of asking Brad Raffensperger to come up with votes in the Georgia 2020 election. Click here to for Raffensperger’s affirmation that Trump knew Biden’s election was valid even as he insisted votes be found.
             3. TRUMP POSSIBLY INCRIMINATES HIMSELF FURTHER in comments about the classified documents he shouldn’t have had at Margo Largo, stating falsely that they were his, and unable to claim he didn’t show them to others.
             4. TRUMP MIGHT BE LIABLE AGAIN for repeated defamation after he continues to malign E Jean Carroll the day after a jury found him guilty of the same thuggish behavior.

MORE POSSIBLE ACCOUNTABILITY:  Troubled Congressman George Santos has been charged with fraud and lying in a 13-count indictment. He confessed to theft in Brazil in a plea agreement to drop charges.
